Diagnostics

Auresine specifically recognizes pentaglycine bridges – peptidoglycan elements of cellular walls characteristic for Staphylococcus spp. The enzyme cleaves those sites causing cell wall disruption and cell lysis which can be observed as cell suspension clearance. Therefore Auresine added to unknown bacterial strain cells suspension may indicate if there is staphylococcal strain present in the tested material or other non-staphylococcal bacteria.

Auresine, being very specific and fast, is active in water and room temperature, which makes diagnostic test based on this enzyme much easier and cheaper when compared to those currently available on the market.

Applications:

fast diagnostic test to differentiate staphylococci from other bacterial strains

cheap test easy to perform without advanced equipment and chemicals
